Having a search engine with the power of Google backing it which is dedicated to offering only automotive related search results from real automotive websites and auto related directory categories is actually quite important. Remember that Google does not discriminate and will show just about every listing that utilizes your search phrase, or is somehow related to it. Often these results are not even automotive sites. As an example, if someone should search for auto link, the results are peppered with automatic link exchange computer programs, Microsoft's automatic link detection system and also some automotive link websites/directories. So now, when a web surfer is interested in getting accurate results, they can utilize the Automotive Search engine to have results that are much more relevant to their needs since the database is exclusively pulling results from the automotive industry.
Currently, the search engine is very small, but it will grow. We are currently pulling results from 59 automotive websites and directories or automotive categories within directories.
In an effort to clean-up the web, we will not be allowing any MFA ("Made for Adsense") PPC advertising "scraper" sites, at all. Such mini sites offer no unique content or any real contribution to the internet community and are simply and explicitly meant as keyword magnets for the search engines to attract web traffic that it can full into paid advertising clicks. However, do not fear if you have a real automotive website that offers unique content or real resources that is enhanced with Google AdSense, Yahoo! Publisher, or BrightAds PPC advertising. As long as you have original content and only a couple of ad blocks per page and the ads are not confusing for the navigation of the website, that is understandable. It's the people creating junk sites for the sole purpose of PPC advertising revenue that we have a problem with.
In order to expand our databse, we invite and encourage automotive industry professionals and auto enthusiasts to join the search engine and to add their own automotive related resource and information websites to the list of automotive domains that are included in the Automotive
Search database. We are looking to expand our list of included websites for the best automotive results from any search engine.
If, however, you don't want to join the search engine as a fellow editor, but you have website with an automotive section, by all means send us a note telling us about it. Be sure to give us the base URL for your automotive section (or site), as well so that we can include it in the database, ourselves. Syd's Eastside anticipates regular contributions of articles and tutorials, as we have the time to submit such things as auto and automotive care tips & tricks. We invite automotive enthusiasts or professionals who have the urge to add their own two cents and submit their own automotive articles, tutorials, tips, tricks or even stories.
